Think design first.

The theme is "Shin Chunagon Taira no Tomomori", who appeared a little among the 13 shogun of Kamakura-dono.
There are many ukiyo-e prints from the Edo period with Taira no Tomomori as a motif, but this time I will go with an original.
As for which scene to draw, I planned to draw a vengeful spirit pattern that appeared on the sea, but I changed it to the seabed pattern considering the pose such as the direction of the spear.
It is said that Taira no Tomomori, who faced his final battle in the Battle of Dan-no-ura, plunged into the water holding an anchor when he committed suicide by drowning.
This legend is widely used in Kabuki programs and is also known as "Ikari Tomomori".
This time, I designed it with the feeling that Tomomori, who has become a vengeful spirit, is looking at the ground from the bottom of the sea.
Anchor and spear, armor under the haori, I think those who are familiar with history will notice this.
Repetition of streaking, inking, and coloring.

The lines are generally shallowly carved, and only a part of the haori is carved deeply with a brush-like touch.
Inking is done with matte black, and since it is the bottom of the sea, it is colored while adding handwriting with indigo blue.
Polish it several times, repeat the coloring, and shade it with black to complete it.
I didn't get the atmosphere of the seabed, so I added something like a Heike crab.
