Design Considerations.
デザインの検討
今回はESP LTD SA-2 リッチーサンボラモデル という日本国内の正規販売は無いとってもレアなギター。
見ているうちに愛着が沸くような独特でかわいいデザインでピックガード形状も特殊でとても大きいです（高さは約３３ｃｍ）、
ピックガードとトラスロッドカバー（というかヘッドカバー）の２枚をゼロから制作になります。
ゼマイティス風でのご依頼になりますので様式（縁取りと葉）を意識しつつ入り乱れる箇所はオリジナリティを出しました、
縁取りがかなり長いので今回に限ってはしっかりと下書きを製作して臨みます。

This time, we're looking at the ESP LTD SA-2 Richie Sambora model, a very rare guitar that's not officially sold in Japan.
It has a unique and cute design that you'll grow to love the more you look at it, and the pickguard shape is unusual and very large (about 33cm tall).
We'll be making both the pickguard and truss rod cover (or rather, headcover) from scratch.
The request was for a Zemaitis-style guitar, so we kept the style (borders and leaves) in mind while adding originality to the intertwined parts.
The border is quite long, so this time only, we'll make a thorough draft before proceeding.

アルミ板からの切り出しと削り作業
アルミ板からの切り出しです、今回は２枚ともにオリジナルと同じ２ｍｍ厚で制作していきます、
糸鋸で切り出しでヤスリでカーブを整えていきます、縁のデザインがあるのでこの時点でアウトラインは確定させてしまいます、
ネジ穴やコントロールノブの穴も開けて軽く皿押し加工も行いました。
６００番程度のヤスリで全体を整えて彫金の準備完了です、縁取りから彫っていきます。

These are cut from aluminum sheets. This time, both pieces will be made 2mm thick, the same thickness as the originals.
They are cut out with a jigsaw and smoothed with a file. Since there is a design for the edges, the outline is finalized at this point.
Holes for the screws and control knobs are also drilled and lightly countersunk.
The whole is smoothed with a 600-grit file and is ready for engraving. We will start engraving from the edges.

全体のバランスを見ながらの彫金パート
今回はとにかく縁が長い為、ここから仕上げていくことにしました、
全体のすじ彫りを行い、２周目で形を整えます、３周目で段を落として、４周目で細かい線入れ、５周目で最終仕上げ、
１つ１つの葉に表情を出して縁取りが完成となります。
続いて中心のデザイン部分もすじ彫り、太線でアウトライン、葉脈などの細い線と入れていき
線の強弱などの微調整を行い最終仕上げで完成です、５行で書きましたが時間は結構かかりました＾＾；
手仕事ならではのある程度の味を残しているつもりです。

Since the border is quite long this time, I decided to start finishing from here.
The first round is for engraving the lines, the second round to shape the design, the third round to reduce the steps, the fourth round to add fine lines, and the fifth round to give it its final touches.
The border is complete, giving each leaf its own unique look.
Next, I'll engrave the lines for the central design, using thick lines to outline the leaf, and then thin lines for the veins, making fine adjustments to the line strength and finish with the final touches. Although it's only five lines long, it took quite a while ^^;
I've tried to retain a certain amount of the character that can only be achieved through handwork.
From inking to finishing.
墨入れから仕上げへ
今回は濃くならないように薄めた塗料で２回墨入れを行いました、
少しヴィンテージ風に仕上げるため細かくランダムに入れたヘアラインを残し、影の部分も調整して表情を付けます。
暗い部分は3000番でくすませてハイライト部分はヘアラインを強調して仕上げていきます、
最後に皿押し加工をいれて裏面を仕上げて完成です。。。

This time, I inked it twice using diluted paint to prevent it from becoming too dark.
To give it a slightly vintage look, I left the fine, random hairlines and adjusted the shadows to add texture.
I dulled the dark areas with 3000 grit sand and accentuated the hairlines in the highlights.
Finally, I applied a countersink to finish the back and it was complete.
